Maintenance and Development Services Program Plan -1996

Work on this assignment involved the development of a comprehensive review and assessment of the operations of the City’s Maintenance Services Department, including water, drainage, sewer, facilities maintenance, equipment maintenance, parks and landscape operations as well as the functions of the City’s Engineering Division of the Community Development Department. Key result areas identified through a strategic planning process involving key members of both departments’ staff included: Organizational Restructuring Review, Process Improvement, MIS System consideration, GIS/FM study group, and interdepartmental cooperation methodologies. Internal clients were interviewed during the process, including, Administration Services, Fire Department, Parks and Recreation Department, Human Resources, Economic Development and the City Manager’s office. The program is now in its implementation stage with key staff assignments committed for follow-up responsibility and program oversight.
