Bucknam & Associates has been awarded a three-year contract with the City of Rancho Santa Margarita where our staff will be providing Infrastructure Management, pavement management, GIS and field survey services.  Building upon the success of our Pavement Management services (2003-2010), our staff will be assisting the Public Works, GIS and Maintenance staff with infrastructure management through 2014.

Additionally, with the new OCTA Pavement Management Guidelines established in May of 2010, our Project Manager, Mr. Peter Bucknam will be working directly with the City's Director of Public Works to ensure that RSM complies with all the new OCTA guidelines which include surveying, certification, reporting and Local Match Reduction.

Field Survey Technician – On/Call Part-time (potentially 15-30 hours/week)

Bucknam and Associates seeks a highly motivated, detail oriented individual looking to work in the technical field of Municipal Infrastructure Data Collection.  A minimum of 1-2 years of experience is preferred.  If necessary, we will train you in the skills needed to perform surveys, data extraction through remote sensing, database management, and GIS.  This is a great opportunity for those interested in gaining entry level experience in private sector Municipal Management.  You must have your own vehicle with a valid driver's license and registration.  We are looking for applicants that reside between the North San Diego County region and the Orange County Area.

Responsibilities:

* Collection of data in the field or through remote-sensing software;

* Promote self-discipline will performing street and right-of-way surveys

* Input of data into software programs catered to each project;

* Track hours/miles per client accurately;

* Follow directions and be willing to learn;

Requirements:

* High School or GED, with some vocational/technical/business school or college desired;

* Knowledge of MicroPAVER, MTC, or other Pavement Management software is preferred (not required)

* Willingness to travel locally, as required;

* Effective written and oral communications skills;

* Use standard office equipment such as personal computer, laser printer, copy machine, telephone, calculator, fax machine, etc;

* Clean driving record;

Bucknam & Associates will be entering into our second year of Pavement Management services for John Wayne Airport (JWA).  We have been awarded an additional phase of pavement management inspections and GIS enhancements that will build upon our previous implementation of MicroPAVER at JWA.

In 2008-09 our staff implemented a turn-key pavement management project for JWA where we inspected the entire facility and its off-site parking lots for FAA compliance.  We established a detailed JWA - GIS Pavement Management link between the JWA GIS and MicroPAVER.  

Under this phase of work, our staff will continue to perform the following services to JWA and to JWA's PMP:

• Record retention scans (as-builts, improvement plans, structural section plans) linked to MicroPAVER and GIS sections
• Staff will be able to select a specific area of JWA pavement and review associated plans
• Incorporation of deflection testing data to the JWA MicroPAVER program
• Annual field inspections
• GIS layering enhancements
• Pavement deterioration analysis; an

Bucknam & Associates has been selected to provide GIS - Digital Roadway Imaging services to the City of Cypress, CA. Our team recently completed a citywide digital roadway survey (2009) for the Public Works department; this effort has allowed the City collect numerous infrastructure elements for its GIS program.   Under this project we will be collecting sewer and storm drain manholes through the digital imaging sets to correctly position all manholes and sewers lines throughout the City.  Our staff has worked with Cypress since 2003 providing infrastructure services such as:

• Sewer Manhole inventories

Bucknam & Associates has been selected to provide Pavement Management Program services to the City of Irvine, CA. Our team recently completed a citywide pavement condition survey (2008) as well as a citywide bike trail and parking lot assessment (2010) for the Public Works department.  Under this project we will be building upon our previous project implementations by incorporating the City's Park and Facility hardscape network into MicroPAVER and the GBA Work Order program.  Our staff has worked with Irvine since 2008 and will continue to provide PMP services covering:
