Fresno County Strategic Plan - 2002

This comprehensive strategic plan for the County of Fresno, which encompasses 6000 square miles of service area with 8,000 employees, involved the development of a Program Plan, which focused on organizational, facilities, informational and fiscal needs. An advisory committee comprised of the County Administrative Officer and Deputies directed the work efforts, which involved comprehensive interviews with the Board of Supervisors, business leader, technology experts and community leaders. A complete review of the County’s current fiscal situation was also made along with an employee survey to ascertain their perception for the County’s needs and future direction.  A Strategic Planning session was conducted which was attended by members of the Board of Supervisors, the CAO, County Administrative staff along with key department heads and representatives of the District Attorney’s office and the Sheriff’s Department. A Strategic Plan report was prepared which made an assessment of Key Program Areas for development and implementation by the County to increase efficiency, make organizational change and improve service to their constituters.
